Name: Alastor
Canon: Hazbin Hotel
Canon point: Post-Season 1
CRAU?: Nope
Age: Died in his 30s and has been in Hell for about 90 years, so 120-ish
History: Hooray for wiki links

Personality:
Alastor maintains the behavior, mannerisms, and even the Transatlantic accent of a 1930's-era radio host despite having been dead and in Hell for almost 90 years. As a result, he uses old-fashioned terms like "picture show" to refer to television programming. Some might even consider him somewhat technophobic due to his disdain for technology invented after the 1930's.

The Hell of his universe is rather crass, but Alastor tends to speak and act politely, saving course language for when he's alone and can't be overheard. He's also always smiling, but it's not an expression meant to put others at ease: Alastor sees smiling as a sign of power and dominance. Any enemies that frown in his presence he sees as inherently weak.

Alastor can be incredibly narcissistic, seeing himself as above most others (perhaps not entirely without justification given how most of Hell flees or cowers in his presence), but he is fully aware that there are rivals out there who could hurt him if he let his guard down. When around someone who has the potential to harm him, he will be wary but never stop smiling.

He's secretive with his powers, enjoying being unpredictable. He might even claim an inability to do something to either (A) reveal later on as a surprise that he could do something or (B) allow himself the opportunity to watch others struggle.

He's also quite sadistic, one obvious example being his offer of aid to Charlie's Happy Hotel: He doesn't believe redemption is possible, finding the very idea hilarious, but he genuinely wants to help Charlie so he can have the satisfaction of watching others try and fail miserably.

Most notably about Alastor is that he possesses a moral compass...albeit an incredibly warped one. For example, he overheard a butcher whose shop he'd just left attacking a much weaker lamb demon Alastor had held the door for. Rather than walking away, he re-entered the shop, slaughtered the butcher, and took some of his meat to consume. The butcher's intended victim was left alive if traumatized. Some of his known rules are that he doesn't follow or chase his victims and that those of "fairer means" shouldn't be taken advantage of.

He's also a bit hypocritical when it comes to touch. He'll touch others freely, even pulling them into impromptu side-hugs when he feels like it, but he personally dislikes being touched. All physical contact needs to be initiated by him.

One thing Alastor craves is entertainment. He's been stuck in Hell for 90 years and it's gotten stale. He's been itching for new experiences, and this new world seems like it's all that and more.

Powers and abilities:

Immortality

As a Sinner, Alastor is biologically immortal, being unable to die from illnesses and unable to age, remaining the same age as when he died, thus can not die of old age and other natural causes. He also cannot die from any kind of damage to the body, and will recover from any injury, however, he can only be permanently killed with angelic weaponry.

Louisiana Voodoo

Alastor was born and raised in New Orleans and learned its style of voodoo which includes hoodoo and other types of rootworking.

Radiowave manipulation

Alastor is able to take over and control radiowaves to broadcast himself across Hell on radio towers. He is able to manipulate and generate radio waves and frequencies.

Acoustokinesis

Alastor is able to put a radio effect on his voice that he can have at different levels of volume and pitch, sometimes distorting or deepening his voice to intimidate others. He can also project various types of radio sound effects onto his cane, such as laughter, booing, or the sounds of his victims screaming, and can have his cane speak as well.

Physical distortion

Alastor's appearance, mostly over the face, becomes covered with a distorted glitch effect in all videos and photos. He is also able to cause glitches in reality.

Demon transformation

Alastor has demonstrated the ability to turn into a much larger and more powerful Demon form.

Flexibility

Alastor can contort his body into numerous unnatural poses including turning his head around a full 360 degrees.

Conjuration

Alastor can summon and transport other beings and areas to his location, as shown when he pulls Niffty out of a fireplace, as well as Husk, and a portion of the bar he was in, into the Hotel foyer. He can manifest objects such as the bottle of cheap alcohol that he bribed Husk with in the pilot, and can summon his cane when he wants it.

Alteration

Alastor also showed he is capable of altering objects such as the Hotel sign, and with a snap of a finger can change the clothing of himself and others.

Demonic magic

Alastor can cast magic thanks to the high power-level he has accrued. In the pilot, this takes the visual form of glowing red symbols that resemble Voodoo veve, which float around him. Alastor is also shown using a type of blood magic, clenching his fist until droplets of blood can be seen falling from it, as a means to defeat Sir Pentious.

Tentacle creation

As seen in "Dad Beat Dad", Alastor can produce black tentacles from his back and can create tentacles from outside his body. In the pilot he is shown summoning tentacles through a portal to defeat Sir Pentious and destroy his blimp.

Umbrakinesis

Alastor is able to summon and manipulate shadows into doing his bidding. He can also hide in shadows as seen when he hid while Charlie forgave Pentious.

Shadow warping

Alastor is able to get around with the help of his shadow. This was first shown when he teleports behind Charlie and Vaggie after entering the hotel for the first time.

Shadow barrier

In "The Show Must Go On", Alastor was shown to be able to create a barrier with his shadow; it was covered in eyes and voodoo symbols. He is also able to produce tentacles from it.

Pyrokinesis

Alastor summons a ball of fire to distract Charlie as he shoves Vaggie away before starting his reprise.

Phytokinesis

As shown in The Radio Demon comic, Alastor is able to make plants wilt with a single stare.

Photokinesis

During his introduction, he is shown to be able to project red glowing light from his eyes as well as his microphone.

Fragokinesis

In "Radio Killed the Video Star", Alastor was shown to create a large green explosion to send Sir Pentious flying.

Digetic Music

Like all demons in his version of Hell, Alastor can kick off a musical number with accompaniment at will.

Soul Deals

Like all demons in his version of Hell, Alastor can make Deals to exchange souls for favors and draw power from the souls bound to him. Blocked because it's OP.

Chosen faction: Sylph
Suitability:
Redemption is (obviously) a huge theme in Hazbin Hotel. Alastor himself doesn't believe it's possible, and it's unlikely that Charlie's rather idealistic means of redeeming sinners would actually work on Alastor. While he likely wouldn't fully achieve redemption in Caldera, his time there could help curb his more evil tendencies. Not to mention that there is the possibility that Alastor's time in Hell may have driven him slightly mad, making it difficult to interact with others when he used to blend in so easily while alive.

Of course, it doesn't help that Alastor is a social person who's isolated by others' fear of him. Alastor is used to having people either run in terror or slam the door in his face before he can even finish saying the word "hello". He won't say as much out loud, but he's lonely. Having companionship could further help his reformation.

At the very least, Alastor's twisted moral code will prompt him to periodically defend others who can't defend themselves like the incident in the butcher shop did in the prequel comic. It would make him somewhat of a guardian though he'll never proclaim himself to be one. It wouldn't be the first time given he risked his own existence to help defend the hotel from Adam's Exorcists, something that very nearly ended him.

It was revealed at the very end of Season 1 that Alastor himself is under some sort of Deal though the current details aren't currently know. As he himself put it, he "hunger[s] for freedom like never before" after nearly dying at Adam's hands. He's trying to figure out a backdoor to get out of his Deal, so his yearning for freedom helps him fit in with the Sylphs.
